Partly cloudy and mild today. Expect high temperatures in the mid-70's. Winds will be from the southeast at 5-10 mph. Tonight, we should have increasing clouds, breezy conditions and and much cooler temperatures with a 20% chance of showers. Overnight lows will range from the low-50's in Galveston to the upper-40's on the mainland. On Friday. we will have partly cloudy skies, breezy conditions and chilly temperatures. Highs will be in the upper-50's. Expect northeasterly winds at 15-25 mph.
DISCUSSION
Temperatures will become milder today and clouds will increase ahead of a strong cold front. We may see a slight chance of rain with the front overnight along with gusty north and northeast winds. Clouds may linger for a bit behind the front as chilly temperatures move in the area on Friday. We should see a quick warm-up on Sunday and early Monday along with an increase in Gulf moisture ahead of yet another cool front. Rain chances will be fairly good along and behind this second surge of cooler air.
